GENERAL GUIDELINES

PURPOSE:

To provide an opportunity for Seniors to participate in Fellowship and Exercise, and to enjoy their Game of Golf.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:

Players must be 55 years of age or over, male, and a resident of Manitoba.  Non Members are not eligible for Team play but may participate in Tournaments.

MEMBERSHIP AND FEES:

Membership Limits and fees will be set by the Executive each season.  A prospective member will be required to fill out an application form along with a cheque for the full Membership Fee.

NOTE: Membership Fee is Not Refundable after the First Month!

If you don’t attend the Wind-up, the wind-up fee is Not Transferable to the next year.

TEAMS:

A TEAM is made up of four members, assigned to play together for the Month.

  1. Team members must be willing to golf out-of-town courses as well as in-town.
  2. Majority rules in decision where the Team will play.
  3. Each member of the Team is to be a Captain for one week.
  4. Team players will change monthly.
  5. Individual Scores are to be entered into the eHandicap Manager Program by the Captain or a Team member with a computer.

PRIZE PLAY ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Draw Prizes will be awarded each month at the Breakfast Meeting  (50/50% payouts).
  2. All members are eligible for selection onto September teams. Team selection is according to handicap.
  3. All games MUST be played by September 26th,  2025.
  4. In order to qualify for Trophies and Awards (i.e. Club Champ,  Low Net and  Most Improved), a person must have been a Regular Member for a minimum of two years and must have played 16 games during that season.
  5. In order to qualify for the Club Championship Game, which is played in early September, players must have played 15 games by August 31st – (as of Oct. 10, 2024).
  6. A Hole-in-One qualifies for a trophy if witnessed by another GCSG member during regular club play – (as of May 11, 2010).

REGULATIONS OF THE GREATER WINNIPEG SENIOR GOLFERS CLUB:

  1. All members will follow Club Guidelines, Rules and Proper Etiquette.
  2. President will advise the date of the first meeting.
  3. Golf officially starts from the end of April or the beginning of May, to the last full week in August – (September play is optional).
  4. Tournaments will be announced at the meetings and posted on the GCSG’s Website and/or the Roster Book if available.
  5. Final Wind-up will take place in the Middle of October.
  6. Executive and Committees will be consulted on all Budgets.
  7. Cheque Signing Authority requires TWO signatures.
  8. The three Signatory Designates are:  President, Vice President and  Treasurer.
  9. TROPHIES: Three separate winners – Club Championship, Low Net and Most Improved.  The same winner cannot receive two trophies. (Oct. 2025)

NOTE:  Additions and/or Deletions may be made at the end of each season!
